St. Luke’s and Second Presbyterian Churches are working together to build handicap ramps for disabled persons in the Greater Indianapolis Area. Scouts are invited to participate for service-hour opportunities. These projects involve carpentry and are usually most intensive on Saturdays (small preparation efforts are done Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays).
Due to the construction aspects of this projects, Scouts must meet certain age and parent liability release requirements in order to participate. Since this is a scout contributing his time to a non-scouting project, Youth Protection Guidelines will not be in effect. A scout must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian at all times.
Contact Jeff Heck for more information about opportunities to participate. For more information, visit their webpage at http://www.sawsramps.org/.
